Nirvana was an American rock band formed by singer-guitarist Kurt Cobain and bassist Krist Novoselic in Aberdeen, Washington in 1987. With the release of 1994’s “In Utero”, Nirvana effectively disbanded and were retired from public life until shortly before Cobain’s death in April 1994.
